Libel actions are no indication the McCanns are innocent

October 16, 2008

The McCanns claimed that they had abandoned their 3 children under 4 years of age Home Alone whilst they went out for a binge drinking session and a meal at the Tapas Bar. Asked why they had neglected their children the McCanns replied that they believed it was safe to do so. This takes some believing that they believed that. Given their professional status, and given that not one entry on the internet states such conduct is safe.

All too frequently the parents or carer cites an abductor or stranger danger to explain away the disappearance of a child. The McCanns are no different in this respect. They say they are convinced that this is what happened. What special insight do the McCanns possess? None whatsoever. They say they were not present at the crucial time.

This is rather too convenient. The McCanns are claiming that being at the Tapas Bar with their 7 friends provides them with an alibi.

However, this is based upon the assumption that all 3 children were safe and accounted for when the McCanns left the apartment. This is not the case. There is no independent witness to corroborate their version of events.

Therefore, it is legitimate to cast doubts upon the McCanns being innocent witnesses in this mystery.

J’accuse I accuse the McCanns

September 4, 2008

Were the Portuguese police right to “believe that Kate McCann killed Madeleine while putting her to bed at their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz between 7pm and 8.30pm on May 3” 2007?

Clarence Mitchell claimed that the allegation is nonsensical. The McCann camp lied to the public and the media when “A source close to the McCanns said: “… Kate was not in the apartment alone with Maddie”…”.

Even in this untruthful account given by Kate McCann she states she was alone in the apartment whilst Gerry McCann went out to play tennis: “Kate said that she and Gerry went back to apartment, with the children, around 5:40 pm and gave them bath, together (statement to PJ, September 6, 2007). They thought about taking the children to the playground area, after bath, but decided not to do it, that day, because the children were really very tired. Just before 6:00 pm, Gerry left the apartment and went to the tennis court“.

Kate McCann lied to cover up the fact that she was alone with the three children in the apartment and when the children were being bathed: “According to his statement, on September 7, 2007Gerry was playing tennis. At around 6:30 pm, David Payne came from Paraíso bar, and asked him if he was going to keep playing. Gerry said he didn’t know, because Kate could need some help to take care of the three children, as they intended to take them to the playground, after the bath“.

I did float the theory on my Jailhouselawyer’s blog that perhaps Madeleine drowned? In any event, I would strongly suggest that Madeleine died around bath time. Why did the McCanns go to so much trouble to try and convince the public and the media that the adults bathed the children together? The McCanns got the basics of their story together, however, it started to fall apart with the glaring inconsistencies. Not only did the PJ detect the inconsistencies, bloggers, forumers and those in chatrooms also ripped the McCanns story apart.

The hastily arranged get together in the Tapas bar was solely for the purpose of discussing what Gerry McCann stated was a disaster to their life-style. The agenda being a cover up. Their careers and reputations were at stake, Madeleine was dead and none of their medical expertise could alter that fact, so they embarked upon a salvage operation to save what was left. It was decided that the Vanishing Act would be blamed on an abductor who broke into the apartment, and the McCanns would use the media to further their aims. When their version of events raises the eyebrows of the PJ because what they are hearing does not correlate with the scene as set up by the McCanns, Jane Tanner suddenly becomes a witness to seeing the abductor. However, this hastily arranged shoring up the version of events had flaws. Neither Jeremy Wilkins nor Gerry McCann state they saw Jane Tanner at the same time and place she claimed to be when seeing the abductor. Jeremy Wilkins had inadvertantly stumbled upon Gerry McCann tampering with the shutters to make it look like a break in had occured, or as he later claimed a break out by the abductor as he went out of the window. Both Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins would not only have seen the abductor, they would have also heard him.

Bath time, Jane Tanner’s sighting and Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins meeting are 3 key weaknesses in the McCanns version of events.

Clarence Mitchell states: “We just hope that everyone can see these ridiculous rumours for what they are. It is very hard on the couple because they are not allowed to talk about the investigation and cannot defend themselves”.

There is nothing stopping the McCanns from speaking out now to defend themselves.

J’accuse I accuse the McCanns.

The case against the McCanns is compelling

August 20, 2008

I will write this slowly for those who have difficulty grasping the facts.

1. Madeleine is missing.

2. Kate and Gerry McCann offer their explanation for Madeleine’s disappearance, an abductor must be responsible. They point to what they claim is a break-in to support their proposition.

3. The McCanns were in no position to advance an explanation. They were out of sight and sound of the apartment, eating and drinking with their friends at the Tapas bar. They had left, at least, the 2 year old twins Home Alone. They claimed all 3 children were asleep in the apartment when they went out for the evening. They claimed that they thought it was safe to leave 3 children under 4 years of age Home Alone.

4. There was no break-in. The McCanns change their story, they admit to leaving the apartment unlocked. Why did they claim that there had been a break-in? It has to be a cover story to conceal an event. Madeleine’s disappearance. The last people to see Madeleine alive were Kate and Gerry McCann. They claim to have answered all questions. This is a lie. They claim to have fully co-operated with the police. This is a lie. Their claim that they thought it was safe is a lie.

5. Justice for Madeleine requires a fair hearing, let us hear the truth, the whole truth, and nothing less than the truth.

6. The case against the McCanns is compelling.

Reconstruction ‘casts doubt on Madeleine McCann kidnapping’

August 8, 2008

By David Brown.

A significant study into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has indicated that kidnapping would be inconsistent with the evidence.

Paulo Sargento, a criminal psychologist at Lusófona University in Libson, has produced a 3D reconstruction of events at the Ocean Club on the evening Madeleine disappeared.

He used minute-by-minute breakdowns of events published in The Times, the respected Portuguese newspapers Público and Sol and the BBC to test all hypotheses put forward by the Portuguese authorities.

Dr Sargento cross-checked times and events from the moment that Kate and Gerry McCann went to pick up their children from the resort’s kindergarten at 4pm, until 10pm, when Mrs McCann reported that Madeleine was missing from their apartment.

He found that from the moment when the McCanns arrived at the tapas restaurant at 8pm, seven people in their party got up a total of 14 times in two hours.

Dr Sargento told SIC television: “There were people passing almost every five minutes. The question is how, in that time, could it be possible with so many people coming and going that no one saw someone coming in through the window without being seen? We have concluded this theory is very inconsistent.”

It is understood that the recreation will be made available to the Polícia Judiciária to assist them in creating a definitive timeline of events on the Ocean Club.

Why Madeleine is dead

August 6, 2008

Madeleine Beth McCann died or was killed in Apartment 5A between 6 and 8.30pm on  3 May 2007. Madeleine was definitely dead before Kate and Gerry McCann left the apartment and arrived at the Tapas bar at 8.40pm. Whilst the McCanns have stated that an abductor must have taken Madeleine in between one of the checks, this is obviously false. Because, it is obvious that the McCanns had to fit in the so-called abductor in between one of the checks to give the story any kind of plausibility. Having to squeeze the so-called abductor into a tight time frame, a window of opportunity, has given the McCanns a logistical problem.

According to the McCanns, at 9.30pm Matthew Oldfield supposedly offers to check on Madeleine and the twins. However, there is something wrong about this account. Matthew Oldfield states that he did not see Madeleine. What good is a check to see if everything is alright which fails to check on Madeleine? He would be failing in his duty towards the McCanns if the scenario was genuine. Why didn’t he see Madeleine? Obviously, she wasn’t asleep in her bed. There are two factors here. One is that Matthew Oldfield was not prepared to state he saw Madeleine. It would mean he was the last person to see Madeleine alive, and make him a prime suspect when the police arrived, and mean he would be accused of perverting the course of justice if discovered to be lying. The second factor is that if he claimed he saw Madeleine, then it would cast doubt upon Jane Tanner’s alleged sighting of the abductor at 9.15pm.

It was difficult enough for the McCanns to introduce an abductor into the plot. To give this version of events any credibility whatsoever, it was better to have someone within the group “see” the abductor. This could not have been done by someone outside of the group as it would have compromised their security if the witness cracked under police questioning. Therefore Jane Tanner drew the short straw, and claimed to have seen the abductor at 9.15pm. This means that Madeleine was missing before 9.30pm. It also means that Madeleine was missing before 9.15pm. Gerry McCann claims to have seen Madeleine asleep at 9.05pm. If he is to be believed, this means that an abductor only had 10 minutes between 9.05 and 9.15pm to kidnap Madeleine.

What spoils this plan for the McCanns is the unexpected arrival upon the scene of Jeremy Wilkins. So, the abductor sees Gerry McCann, Jeremy Wilkins and Jane Tanner in the street and decides to just pop into Apartment 5A and abduct Madeleine? One of the McCanns favourite words of scorn is ludicrous, which is what we are expected to believe. It was a shock for Gerry McCann to leave the apartment and unexpectedly to bump into Jeremy Wilkins. It would not have been sociable had Gerry McCann just ignored Jeremy Wilkins therefore he had to stop and talk to him for a few minutes. In reality, Gerry McCann did not see Madeleine asleep in her bed at 9.05pm, this was because she was already dead by 8.30pm.

It is unlikely Madeleine died as a result of an overdose or overreaction to a sedative. This is because she would have been in bed appearing to be asleep, and the McCanns would not have noticed until later that night or the next morning. It is more likely that Madeleine was killed between 6 and 8pm. And, that the meeting in the Tapas bar was hastily arranged.

Daily Mail shambolic reporting of McCann case

August 5, 2008

The Daily Mail headline is not news, its old reporting, and it is not sensational nor is it as revealing as claimed in the misleading headline. Rather, it reveals more about the poor editorship and intended audience than it does for facts.

Revealed: what happened the night Madeleine went missing

“An investigation…” what investigation, conducted by who?

“The Mail’s sister newspaper, the Evening Standard, has spoken to a series of sources close to the McCanns and their friends who have revealed details of the events on the night”.

This hardly constitutes an independent investigation which is based upon the biased opinions of those within the McCann camp.

The McCanns “are adamant Madeleine was abducted and are angered by vicious smears – published by the Portuguese media – that the McCanns and their friends are somehow complicit in her disappearance”.

The McCanns and their friends to greater or lesser degrees are somehow complicit in Madeleine’s disappearance. The meal and drinks at the Tapas bar was designed as an alibi.

“One source says he believes Madeleine was taken between 9.05pm and 9.15pm and that the patio windows at the rear of the apartment had been shut but unlocked on the night so the McCanns could check on their children more easily.

He said: “It could not be anything other than abduction. There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that the girl Jane Tanner saw being carried away was Madeleine””.

“But the source is adamant that none of the dining companions was away from the table at the tapas bar long enough not only to kill the little girl but then to dump the body.

The source said: “If it was one of the friends then it would have to be all of them to ensure a cover up. That’s just plain nonsense””.

Jane Tanner did not arrive at the Tapas bar until 9pm. She must have left 10 minutes later if she saw the abductor as she claims to have done.

Police files reveal McCanns and Tanner’s lies

August 5, 2008

According to the Telegraph “Kate and Gerry gain hope from Portuguese police inquiry files“. This is clearly Clarence Mitchell spin. The idea being that the McCanns hoped to gain leads from the files to help find Madeleine. In truth, the McCanns wished to see the files to discover the extent of the police evidence against them. As they had hoped, it amounted to very little. Some will say, no evidence therefore the McCanns must be innocent. However, from the outset, the McCanns have ensured that very little evidence is put together to build a case against them.

The PJ were suspicious of this photo of Madeleine’s bed. The PJ did not believe it had been slept in by Madeleine. I would have to agree with the PJ. It looks like the top sheet has been rolled back in readiness for Madeleine to go to bed. And, the most obvious reason why Madeleine did not go to sleep in the bed on 3 May 2007 was because she was already dead. Therefore, the McCanns lied about all 3 children being put to bed before they went out to the Tapas bar. It would also explain why Kate McCann failed to answer the BBC reporter’s question, during a TV interview, “Was Madeleine asleep when you went out?”.

Notice also in the photo where Cuddle Cat is. According to the McCanns, they knew an abductor had been in the apartment because Cuddle Cat had been placed on a shelf which was too high for Madeleine to reach. This was obviously another lie made up by the McCanns to push forward their abduction theory.

According to Jane Tanner’s sketch at 3 is where Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins were supposed to have been stood talking. And at 4 is where Jane Tanner claims to have been when she claims to have seen the abductor crossing her path. However, according to Gerry McCann, he claims to have crossed over the road to talk to Jeremy Wilkins, and that would have been level with at 4. Bearing in mind neither Gerry McCann nor Jeremy Wilkins saw Jane Tanner at all.

It has been recorded that Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins became friendly at the resort. There is no record of Jane Tanner and Jeremy Wilkins having become friends. And yet, note how Jane Tanner has used the familiar “Jez”, the shortened form of Jeremy, to describe where she is supposed to have seen him talking to Gerry McCann. This would indicate that Gerry McCann in some way inappropriately put words into Jane Tanner’s mouth when she gave her evidence.

If Jane Tanner’s account was to be believed, she was on the same narrow footpath passing the two men talking, and Wilkins had a child in a buggy with him, and yet they failed to notice her? She failed to notice Jeremy Wilkins had the child in a buggy at the time. Given the narrowness of the footpath, either the two men would have had to make way to let her pass by, or she would have had to step on the road to pass by them. Jane Tanner fails to mention any of this. I find it unbelievable that she would walk past Gerry McCann without a greeting in passing.

The truth of the matter is that the McCanns did lie

July 28, 2008

The McCanns, through their family and friends, informed the media that Apartment 5A had been broken into and that during the course of this break in the shutters were jemmied up and damaged in the process.

Because so many told this same story, it cannot be said that they all made this up, the story had to come from one source, which is what the family and friends said themselves, and that source was the McCanns.

Imagine for a moment that you come back to your apartment, after going out at 8.30pm, at 10.pm, and your 3 year old daughter has gone missing. One of your first reactions would be to sound the alarm. Which is what Kate McCann did.

It is clear that there is no sign of a break in. However, the shutter has been raised from the inside and the window has been opened from the inside, and Kate McCann’s fingerprints are all over where they have been opened.

Given that there was no sign of a break in, the McCanns sought to create the impression that there had been a break in. This is like the magician or illusionist on stage trying to create an impression to fool the audience into believing they had seen something happen when in fact it was a trick.

Madeleine was the subject of a vanishing act. The McCanns claimed that an abductor broke into Apartment 5A and Madeleine vanished.

A “family friend Jill Renwick told GMTV the McCanns were certain that Madeleine has been abducted”.

“They were just watching the hotel room and going back every half-hour and the shutters had been broken open and they had gone into the room and taken Madeleine“.

However, in the same media report, quoting the Ocean Club manager:

“Mr Hill said that despite the report by a family friend that the shutters to the couple’s apartment were broken, there was no sign that anyone had forced their way in while the McCanns ate at the tapas restaurant 200 yards away”.

The lie here is not that Madeleine is missing. The deception is the McCanns claiming that there had been a break in at Apartment 5A, when there clearly had not been a break in. If the McCanns claimed that whoever broke into the apartment was responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance, and the apartment was not broken into but was just a story made up by the McCanns, then it follows that the McCanns are responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance. If this is not the case, then the McCanns are free to offer an explanation. They are no longer arguidos, they are no longer subjected to the Portuguese secrecy laws, they can no longer hide behind the “We cannot go into details”.

The police, PJ, and even Clarence Mitchell, has stated that there was no evidence of a break in.

But, the fact remains that the McCanns told a lie about there being a break in.

What is the truth behind why the McCanns told this lie?

McCanns: A web of deceit

July 17, 2008

“A lie told often enough becomes truth” – Vladimir Lenin.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State” – Joseph Goebbels.

The Guardian is supposed to have a good reputation for intelligent and factual reporting. We have this headline from 5 May 2007:

Tapas for two … then parents’ nightmare began

It creates the impression that the story starts with a meal, and then the tragedy happens. What if the story began a little while earlier? Let’s say, for argument’s sake, between 6 and 8pm?

The article has a subheading:

Police hunt three-year-old believed abducted from holiday apartment

Who believed Madeleine was abducted?

But by the time Mr McCann picked up the phone to his sister in Dumbarton the thread of hope that Maddy had simply climbed out of the window and wandered off had been eclipsed by the growing certainty that she had been snatched while he and his wife ate tapas just 100 yards away within the holiday complex“.

A search of the immediate area had failed to find Madeleine had simply just wandered off. Therefore, it is said, because nobody wanted to voice the supposedly unthinkable, that is, that the parents might have been in some way responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance, the planted seed becomes a growing certainty in some minds.

“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes” – Mark Twain.

“The telephone rang at around 11pm at Trish Cameron’s home near Glasgow. She picked it up to hear the voice of her younger brother. “He was distraught, breaking his heart,” Mrs Cameron said. “He said: ‘Madeleine’s been abducted, she’s been abducted.'”

The article continues: “On Thursday night the McCanns went out after 8pm, having put their three children into their pyjamas and seen them fall asleep in their bedroom in the apartment“. Where is the supporting evidence that all 3 of their children were in their pyjamas and asleep in their bedroom? What if only 2 of the children were actually asleep?

The article continues: “They weren’t out for long, and they could see the apartment from the restaurant” said Brian Healy, Madeleine’s maternal grandfather. This comes across as being defensive and protective. What constitutes a long time? Leaving 2 year old twins, Home Alone, even for a few minutes could be construed as being too long a period. Child safety experts state that children of this age should never be left unsupervised for any period of time, certainly not between 30 minutes and 2 hours. The apartment block can be seen from the Tapas bar, but Apartment 5A from where the Tapas 9 were seated visibilty was very poor.

The article continues: “Mrs Cameron said the couple checked on the children every half hour; the last check was made after 9pm by Mr McCann. Some time between then and around 10pm when his wife walked into the room to find Madeleine missing, the family believes an intruder broke in and snatched the girl”.

There is quite a bit of inconsistency between the versions of whether anybody checked at all, and who checked and at what times. There is no sighting of Madeleine by anyone outside of the McCann camp since 6pm, and there is no evidence to support Gerry McCann’s claimed sighting of Madeleine at 9pm and Matthew Oldfield did not see Madeleine when he went to check at approximately 9.30pm. From just after 6pm until 10pm, when Kate McCann claims Madeleine had just vanished into thin air, only the McCanns claimed all was well in Apartment 5A. They also claimed that there had been a break in at their apartment, but this version of events was not supported by any evidence, on the contrary, there was evidence proving it not to be the case.

“A lie told often enough becomes truth” – Vladimir Lenin.

Grandfather: evidence that three-year old was snatched (Guardian 5 May 2007)

The grandfather of a three-year-old snatched from her parents’ holiday apartment in the Algarve said yesterday that there was clear evidence she had been abducted“.

And what was the substance of this so-called clear evidence?

“Gerry told me when they went back the shutters to the room were broken, they were jemmied up and she was gone,” said Mr Healy. “She’d been taken from the chalet. The door was open”.

So, what Gerry McCann claims to be the truth, is the truth. Personally, I would not call that clear evidence at all. What if there was a hidden agenda for Gerry McCann to make such a claim?

The article states: “Mark Warner, the holiday firm which runs the luxury resort, claimed last night there was no sign of a break in at the ground floor apartment overlooking the sea”.

I think it is only fair to question Gerry McCann’s version of events, given that he has been caught out telling a lie about a so-called break in. Why did he feel he needed to lie?

The article continues: “It is not right to say that they just left them,” said Mr Healy.

Doesn’t Mr Healy know the difference between right and wrong? If they didn’t just leave the twins what did they do then? We know they did precisely that, leave the twins. They went out for drinks with their friends. We don’t know what state Madeleine was left in. We don’t know whether she was still in the apartment between 6 and 9pm.

It does not matter how often the McCann camp tell the same lie that Madeleine was abducted, I for one will not accept it as the truth. They are complete opposites. The McCanns may see their lie as their friend. However, their greatest enemy is the truth. And, there are far more truth seekers out there against the McCanns.

McCann police are guilty of cruelty claims Tony Parsons

June 2, 2008

“Kate and Gerry McCann could still face charges of neglect, according to the first
published court ruling on the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.

Official documents in Portugal show that the police there have not yet ruled out
bringing such charges. This hardly feels like a positive step in either finding
Madeleine, or discovering what happened to her.

In the course of their 13-month investigation, the Portuguese police have failed to come up with any answers at all about the disappearance.

It’s unforgivable that they have not removed the weight of suspicion from Kate and Gerry, who have paid an unimagineably high price for eating dinner 50 yards from where their children slept. One more question for the bungling plods of Portugal. Haven’t these people suffered enough?”.

Report in today’s Daily Mirror. As I understand it, the PJ are seeking to discover what happened to Madeleine. This is to me a positive step. It must be borne in mind that the McCanns have done everything in their power to resist the police investigation. The McCanns are suspects for good reason. Besides, it does not help to keep shortening the distance between the Tapas Bar and Apartment 5A.

It is Madeleine who is the victim here. The McCanns are not victims.
